Green Street Green Primary School

RSHE

Intent

At our school, RSHE is a subject through which pupils develop the knowledge skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and prepared for life and the workplace ahead. All our pupils develop an understanding of themselves as responsible citizens and an awareness of other people in society.

Implementation

RSHE learning impacts on physical and mental wellbeing, helps pupils to build and maintain positive relationships and prepares them to become responsible citizens by making good, safe and sensible decisions. All staff are mindful of the benefit of RHSE and look to embed opportunities for relationships and health education across the whole of the curriculum and school life in general. All RSHE lessons are taught using correct terminology, child-friendly language and diagrams.

For your information, we have attached the "Changing Me" topic overviews for each year group, outlining what is taught in each lesson. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Impact

By the end of Key Stage 2, we want all our pupils to reach their full potential by reducing barriers to learning and developing skills and attributes such as confidence, resilience and a positive attitude and an enjoyment towards learning today, tomorrow and into the future.
